WARNING ‘Game of Thrones’ is ADULTS ONLY Programing: 3 years ago a friend told me about the HBO program ‘Game of Thrones’ said that I could catch up with all the back programs of season one and that it was worth watching. Sean Bean who played in Lord of The Rings and Charles Dance an English actor who plays bad guys as good as anyone were part of the cast. I gave it a try and viewed the first Episode. It moved very slow with only a few story plots revealed but was interesting enough to watch the next but by the middle of the season I was hooked. I had to know more about these people created in the mind of writer George R. R. Martin. This adaptation of Martin’s fantasy novels was brought to us by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. Their set productions and story creations with the cast of great actors really took you in to the fantasy world of the ‘Game of Thrones’.
On Sunday the first episode of the 4th season premiered. ‘Two Swords’ was strong in emotional content right after the end of the 3erd season which climaxed in the ‘Red Wedding’ the massacre of the Stark family namely Robb Stark and his new wife Talisa and their unborn baby and Catelyn Stark Robb’s mother. This event also annihilated the army that Robb had put together to challenge the Iron Throne’s young King Joffrey Baratheon who had Eddard Stark (Robb’s father) beheaded in front of his daughters Arya and Sansa. To add insult to the loss of the Stark family Tywin Lannister the grandfather of King Joffery had the Stark family sword “Ice” made of Valyrian steel melted down and two swords made in it’s place which he gave to his son Jaime Lannister. This was done to signify the total defeat of the rival House of Stark.
In this episode Daenerys Targaryen (Mother of Dragons) learns that her dragons are indeed wild animals and can not be tamed. One of her dragons scares her when she interferes in a dragon meal. And Jon Snow after healing from the arrow wounds given him by his Wildling lover Ygritte has to answer for killing a fellow soldier of the Nights watch. More complications are introduced in the plans to wed King Joffrey Baratheon with Margaery Tyrell.
It finishes with Arya Stark still kidnapped by Sandor “The Hound” for ransom getting the the Stark sword back from the man who stole it called “Needle” and stabbing him in the neck while enjoying the vengeance of retaliation of Stark enemies. This little girl is changing, she is not Daddy’s little girl anymore. Hard hitting is putting it mildly when describing the action and story of ‘Game of Thrones’. Where will it end and who will eventually rule the kingdoms from the Iron Throne. You will find out in the 4th season of ‘Game of Thrones’. Because of the adult content I am recommending it only for a mature audience. Walt
